Description of: Hak Split Peas
Hak split peas are low in fat, high in protein and a source of dietary fiber. So a healthy choice!
Basic pea soup
(2 to 3 persons)
Supplies: 250 g split peas, 1 liter of water, 1 small sliced onion, 100 g soup vegetables, salt or stock cubes.
1. You do not have to pre-soak the peas, just wash them and slowly bring them to a boil with the water.
2. From the moment the split peas boil, let it cook gently for about 1 to 2 hours in a closed pan until they fall apart and are cooked. Stir regularly.
3. Add the soup vegetables and cook gently for another 20 to 30 minutes.
If necessary, add extra water if the soup becomes too thick.
Add salt or stock cubes as desired.
